our story up to now

OUR DNA - Why the name “Revival City”?

We launched the church with the name Tabernacle, representing God’s mobile presence. Now in 2020, God has provided a permanent location for us on 600 N. Tennessee St. Due to the permanent place, we felt called to change our name to “Revival City” to designate a resting place for God’s presence in our new spot and an apostolic vision for seeing heaven invade earth and the whole city be reached for Jesus, all 7 mountains or aspects of society (Government, Religion, Education, Arts & Entertainment, Media, Family, Business). We are continuing the Downtown Mckinney House of Prayer at Snug in the Square Coffeeshop on Friday nights, while our permanent location allows us many more opportunities a few blocks away from the square.

The Old Testament tabernacle in the Bible was a mobile physical dwelling place of God's tangible and manifest presence. In the New Testament, Jesus (God in human flesh) physically tabernacled in the world he made in a visible way John 1:14 - "And the Word became flesh, and tabernacled among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth." In Leviticus 26 and Rev 21-22 and other places we see visions of a city belonging fully to God. Why not Mckinney? Why couldn’t this be a city of revival?

There are many churches in the D/FW area, with many different focuses. Our focus is to be a place where anyone who visits with us doesn't just learn doctrine, ideas, or facts about God, but to be a place where people encounter God directly, know God as a Father, Jesus as a real, risen, Savior, and meet with Holy Spirit in a real way. We also feel a calling to be a resource and training center, equipping Christians to represent Jesus and release His love and power in the north Dallas region. We have dreams of 24/7 prayer, and a school of ministry. From carrying God’s presence to seeing cities and nations in revival, we hope you will join us at Revival City Church

Psalm 85:6 - Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you? - Join us in praying for revival that God will bring revival here and now.
